Edwards Theater Uses Cheap Projectors and Blind Projectionists?
I saw a movie this morning. Fun times with the family, OK movie, horrible image quality. First it was out of focus. Then it was in focus (after I notified the customer service rep), but still looked crappy. Most likely the theater is just using a cheap-o projector and some teenager to run it. I love the movies, but rarely have the chance to go to the theater. In fact it had been quite a while since I had sat in a theater. After today I'm not very motivated to spend $20+ to watch a movie in a theater again when it looks 100 times better on my HDTV (thank you Blu-ray). You would think that the film industry would be trying to find ways to add value and make themselves relevant in our modern age. Instead, they are using cheap projectors and overpriced concessions to keep people away. Oh well, I like my recliner better than a theater seat anyway.

Until now, I was blissfully ignorant to this fact. I recently paid like $11 to see a matinee in Esco. "Up" in 3D boasted upgraded screens for a higher quality picture and overall viewing experience. As if the current ticket price didn't warrant a quality experience. I could not tell the difference in picture quality and got motion sick from the 3D pictures. Thoroughly disappointed. I prefer my couch as well. Now, if we could only get access to new releases from home, it would be a perfect world.
